Simple Recipe for Immune Boost!

Hey everyone again,

My poor fiance is having the hardest time with his allergies! He has been stuffy and nothing has seemed to work. Of course OTCs are always a remedy, but we are always trying to go for all natural.

Local honey seems to have helped a little bit, but once things get bad...they are bad!!

I am talking snoring so bad the mucus is that backed up!!

So today, I bought some OTCs for him, came home, and had him take them...

Then I made him a fruit salad with kiwi, oranges, and apples!! Immune city to the rescue...

Plus some Chamomile tea with local honey.

Needless to say he is only feeling mildly better...I am on the hunt for more allergy fighting ideas that are natural. I will keep you updated.

In the mean time though...here is a pic of the salad I made:

3 tangelos
2 kiwis
1 apple

Vegan/Gluten-free/AND Just plain delicious...

Excuse the continued construction around here....It is like moving into a new home you know? Life still will happen even when everything is not in it's "place" yet. So, while I am "re-branding" my blog...I will continue to post...

So on my hunt to become gluten and dairy free I have felt deprived with no luck finding "my needs" met in retail stores. Sigh....However, this journey has most certainly turned my interest to the DIY culture. Which...by the way...is so fun, right? Sometimes it is nice to kick back and let others take care of us, but every now and then we all get a fire inside of us and are like GOSH DARNIT ILL DO IT MYSELF. I think that is what the DIY spirit comes from. Anyways, so chocolate...
I was feeling deprived since most chocolate bars have either dairy, sugar, or gluten all of which I try and stay away from.
So you are probably thinking, then what the heck are you talking about Sarai?
Well luckily I found a website called mywholefoodlife.com and I found the following recipe using only 3 items:

Coconut oil
- Cocoa powder
- A sweetener (i like Stevia) but you can choose yourself..
(I also like my chocolate salted so you can add this too)
Even ratios of oil to cocoa powder for example:
-1/4 cup coconut oil
-1/4 cup cocoa powder
- Sweeten to taste
Make sure you melt the coconut oil before measuring and whisk the cocoa powder thoroughly with no lumps.
Then put your chocolate into a mold.
You can purchase professional molds. However, I just use wax cupcake liners (had to google that for some reason, lol).
Freeze and then wala!
I have experimented with lots of flavors using the Stevia flavored tinctures at Sprouts Farmers Market.
Favorite so far is peppermint, tastes like a peppermint patty.
