Home Body Fat Test

Hello everyone! Welcome back. So today I want to briefly discuss one of the best ways to set weight loss goals for yourself.

Most of us don't know that weight is not the only factor that matters in weight loss. In fact, it may be very insignificant. However, it does play some roles.

It is not the star of the show though. What is then, you ask? **Drum rolls** Body fat percentage. Body fat percentage is the most important thing along with lean body mass percentage. Ever notice how really tone people look strong and lean? It is because they are! They achieve this physique by focusing on building muscle and at the same time they are reducing their fat.

Here is a great website to do an at home body fat test: http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html. You will need a tape measure and a scale. It takes a few minutes, so simple!

So you also maybe wondering, what should my body fat percentage be? (According to the American Council on Exercise) here is a table of body fat percentage for males and females:

You want to be falling in the fitness range and getting to the athletic level is not such a bad idea either:) Don't be alarmed if your fat is 1-5% too high. However, if it is higher than this, consulting with a physician would be a good idea to make sure you don't have any medical problems.

Managing excess fat is simple. All you have to do is reduce high fat intake, do more weight lifting, and eat more protein. You also want to eat frequently throughout the day.

Some of my favorite muscle building activities are the dead lift, squats, and plyometrics. A good way to figure out how to do multiple strength training exercises is by youtubing six pack shortcuts. A guy named Mike shows you safe and easy exercises! Love him!

Alright well I hope now you understand that it is not all about weight and numbers but it is also about body fat percentage:) If you work hard, you will get results!
