Stay Slim This Holiday!

So it is the holidays where food is all around including pumpkin rolls, chocolates, cookies, and all sorts of yummy goodies.

People have asked me, "How do I say no?". It is hard to deny your friends you have worked long and hard to make delicious bites of goodness for you. The thing is, you don't necessarily have to say no to everything. Have a little and move on. Everything in moderation is what I believe.

Another way to control your appetite, especially on days when you know a large amount of food will be served is to eat a healthy breakfast and make sure you are hydrating. One mistake I always hear people make is that they save all the calories for that one large dinner. No wonder people are so tired after big holiday meals, because the average consumption is 1,800 calories!

This puts a lot of strain on your digestive system and throws off your diet. Not to mention how can one feel healthy after consuming that many calories.

Another way to fight some extra calories, is of course, stay active! Although, it may be hard sometimes to stay active, it is very important, so you can feel and look your best. During the holidays there is a lot of distraction, so scheduling your workouts will be your best bet and remember if you are tired, do it anyway!

In addition, if you are baking at home, try using Stevia (a natural sweetener) or Splenda, egg whites (instead of yolks), and other kinds of substitutes to cut out added fat and sugar.

You can always host a healthy holiday party as well. In order to show your friends and family that the holidays do not necessarily have to be about over consuming.

Stay healthy and stay happy much love!!
